Winter dreams in the Eifel

A Shackleton trip to Manderscheid/Vulkaneifel from 2nd to 6th February 2008.
This trip is also open for non-Shackleton-members such as friends, brothers or sisters.

Back to Manderscheid!

Manderscheid a small village situated in the south of Eifel, north from Trier, offers a multitude of possibilities of exploring and touching nature.

Our fresh air activities will be taking place in wonderful woods and castles while the volcanic origin of the area gives us a breathtaking silhouette. We travel to a dreamlandscape of 45 million years old living history!

Mini-Shackleton-Expedition

It’s a wonderful training to stay together in the Eifel during the half term holidays. After having taken the first steps with our “Body and Soul”-programme we will have lots of possibilities for making experiences in the woods and with ourselves. In a winter environment, we learn a lot about winter hazards and have fun in the snow.

Staying in the Jugendhüttendorf

Besides the woods we find the Jugendhüttendorf Vulkaneifel nearby the wander routes.

We are accommodated in the Jugendhüttendorf which has about 120 beds in 22 wooden huts. The huts are practical but cosy they offer beds, tables, seats and of course cupboards and heating.

Cooking will be one part of our daily activities and we are looking forward to creating meals by ourselves, planning, shopping and not to forget the washing up!
